MK Car Security recently provided full electrical services for both IVA modifications and full police conversion on a Dodge Charger from the USA.

The car started out life fairly standard:

We then carried out full IVA modifications for a client of ShipMyCar.co.uk to ensure headlights had sidelights, side repeator indicators added, rear fog light added, seperate brake and indicator lights and change indicators to amber.

The IVA wiring work on these is extensive to ensure safe conversion using relays with diodes to provide back EMF protection. We would not recommend anybody take on the challenge of converting a Dodge for the IVA themselves unless they are experienced with doing so….

We then wired in all the light bars, LED flashing bulbs in the headlights and other areas and full police siren

A Deadlock is a mechanical device fitted to a vehicle door. It operates by throwing a bolt into a receiver fitted to the opposing body section when operated by an external key.

As Deadlocks are under the control of the driver, they are generally only appropriate for owner drivers or applications where the driver can be relied upon to operate the lock.

All our supplied cylinders, housings and plugs are plated in highly durable satin nickel to maintain a consistent and long lasting appearance. External trims are available as either UV stabilised black Nylon, or satin nickel-plated brass to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the vehicle. Both versions are suitable for fitment to vehicle bodywork without causing damage to paintwork. Note Black external trims supplied as standard.

To ensure that our kits are the most appropriate for the specific application, we use a wide range of lock cases, cylinders and ancillary components. They are all manufactured to European standards and our own exacting specifications. IVA, SVA and MOT requirements in the UK require imported vehicles to have an ‘e’ marked rear fog light, side repeater indicators, and amber indicators which are separate to the brake lights – wiring these incorrectly can damage the cars ECU / Smart Junction Box – a common problem in Camaro’s, Corvettes and Mustangs Shipped to the UK
